Shagbark Hickory Syrup - What is it?

Our Shagbark Hickory Syrup is handcrafted in small batches in Bennington County, Vermont.

Syrup color and flavor nuance will vary with each batch.

It is not a syrup made from tree sap.

It is a sugar syrup flavored with extract made from the loose, naturally peeling bark of Shagbark Hickory trees found in the fields and woodlands of Vermont

that has been carefully washed, roasted, simmered and steeped in pure, sparkling well water, filtered, sweetened,

and aged to perfection.


Use Shagbark Hickory Syrup

in almost anything calling for sugar or maple syrup -

in glazes over beef, pork, chicken, or fish,

as a drink mixer or coffee sweetener,

in salad dressings,

as an ingredient in baked goods,

or straight over ice cream and pancakes.

Its applications are boundless.
